There are two ways to think about this.

One, what is it that discipline achieves for you, which makes it fun?

Two, how can you make each task to be fun.

The second one is easier.

Listen to your favorite podcast or album while walking.

Sit outside on the balcony while preparing your presentation.

Have a cup of coffee or any other favorite drink while tackling an especially difficult piece of writing/designing/coding/etc.

The idea is to team up the less enjoyable tasks with something fun, and get it done.

Now let’s come to the first one.

What is it that discipline achieves for you, which makes it fun?

It is this – discipline helps you get the essential tasks out of the way so that you have more time, space and energy left for fun things.

Weekend spent jamming with friends.

An elaborate dinner date with your partner in the middle of the week.

Month-long sabbatical exploring Mt. Kilimanjaro.

You get the drift, right?

Let’s get doing now (ACTION STEP).

Look at your superlist and pick up a task you have been procrastinating on for long.

Schedule a time in your calendar and get it done.

See you tomorrow.

Happy disciplining yourself till then.

Adios!
