A 2019 survey found that some people have up to 100 tasks on their to do lists!
If that’s you, or you fear that will be you when you have a single superlist, here are 5 steps you can take to cut it to size:
- Throw it in the dustbin and start afresh. Yes, it’s an option. I have done this a couple times and still survived.
- If that was too drastic, cut out tasks that can wait. After all, they did wait for so long!
- Delegate the tasks that you can and strike them off your list.
- For partial delegation, change the task entry. So for a task that read “Take kiddo to the dentist,” change it to “Check with hubby if they took kiddo to dentist!”
- Prioritize the rest of the tasks and start tackling them one by one.
- At the end of this exercise you should be left with just 15-20 tasks. Okay, may be 25 if this is the first time you are sanitising your list.
I typically never have more than 15-17 tasks on my list.
I put a cap at that and add new tasks only after some have been done and struck off the superlist.
Today’s action step is self-explanatory, isn’t it?
Cut your superlist to the minimum size you can. And let me know how many tasks you have on your superlist.
Till Then,
Adios and happy chopping!
